    Producers of specialty crops are encouraged to learn more about the Marketing Assistance for Specialty Crops (MASC) Program and then contact their county FSA office to apply by the Jan. 8 application deadline. MASC is designed to assist specialty crop producers with managing higher costs and expanding markets. To be eligible, a producer must be in business at the time of application, maintain an ownership share and share in the risk of producing a specialty crop that will be sold in calendar year 2025. MASC covers commercially marketed specialty crops including vegetables (including dry edible beans and peas), fruits, tree nuts, nursery crops, Christmas trees, floriculture, honey, turfgrass, grass seed and others.
