About
William “Bill” Bunce was appointed by the Biden Administration to serve as the State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Wyoming in August 2022.
Bunce has decades of agriculture experience managing multiple largescale Wyoming ranches, including livestock, sheep, and cattle feedlot operations.
Bunce grew up near Las Vegas, New Mexico, at Hermit’s Peak Boys Ranch. Prior to his appointment with FSA, he was the Director of Strategic Partnerships with Mercy Chefs, Inc., an international disaster response organization. He has over a decade of service to international ministry and disaster relief and response efforts and continues to volunteer and serve as Director Emeritus with Mercy Chefs.
Earlier in his career, Bunce worked in feedlot management, agribusiness and livestock breed association management. He worked in operational management for the American Quarter Horse Association working on the staffs of The Quarter Horse Journal and The Quarter Racing Journal and as Vice-President of the American Polled Hereford Association. He also served as the Executive Director of the New Mexico Livestock Board.
Bunce served as Director of Marketing for the Wyoming Department of Agriculture and as one of the foundational staff directors of the Wyoming Business Council in dual roles as Wyoming’s Director of International Business and Agribusiness for seven years. He actively served on the Board of Directors of United States Livestock Genetics Export Inc, Wyoming Rural Development Council, University of Wyoming College of Agriculture Advisory Committee, and Governor Geringer’s Sub-Cabinets on Natural Resources and Economic Development.
Bunce earned a Bachelor of Science degree in animal science from the University of Missouri in Columbia.
He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
