Jonas Moya was appointed by the Biden Administration to serve as the State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in New Mexico in October 2021.

Moya was born and raised on his grandmother’s farm and cattle ranch in Tucumcari, New Mexico. He is a fourth-generation agriculturist with deep roots in New Mexico’s diverse agriculture industry. Most recently, Moya served as
the Executive Director for New Mexico Cattle Grower’s Association. He was previously the Civic Engagement and Policy Manager at New Mexico First, an organization dedicated to building consensus on critical issues facing the state.

Moya is passionate about New Mexico agriculture and is often involved in conversations around the next generation of agriculturalist and agricultural resiliency. He is also a supporter of New Mexico colleges and universities, encouraging students to stay in-state.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in agricultural economics and business from
New Mexico State University.

Moya currently resides in Albuquerque, New Mexico. His hobbies include golfing, bird hunting, fishing, skiing, visiting museums, and attending plays and concerts.
