About
Janice Kolvet was appointed by the Biden Administration to serve as the State Executive Director of the USDA Farm Service Agency (FSA) in Nevada in February 2022.
Kolvet was born and raised in Reno, Nevada. She was a cattle rancher in Elko, Nevada, and has experience working with FSA federal farm programs at the field and national level.
She began her federal career 25 years ago and served in many positions with FSA in Nevada, California, and Washington, D.C. Kolvet managed farm program delivery at the county office level as a District Director and at the state level as an Agricultural Program Specialist in both the Nevada and California FSA state offi ces. She worked at the FSA National Offi ce in
Washington, D.C. as a Supervisory Agricultural Program Specialist where she directed a staff charged with national farm policy related to disaster assistance. She has been on many task force teams throughout her career including the 2014 Farm Bill task force that was responsible for developing new policy for federal disaster assistance.
Kolvet has been a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks for three years.
Kolvet has three sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren. She enjoys traveling, visiting museums, and spending time with family and friends.
