Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act (AFIDA)

Detailed Data Underlying the AFIDA Annual Reports

Disclaimer:   In accordance with Section 773 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, P.L. 117-328, FSA is directed to, “establish a streamlined process for … retention of disclosures made under the Agricultural Foreign Investment Disclosure Act [AFIDA], including an internet database that contains disaggregated data from each [AFIDA] disclosure submitted.”  FSA will provide such detailed data regarding foreign investment in U.S. agricultural land on an annual basis.  The detailed data may contain inaccuracies resulting from a number of causes, including but not limited to typographical errors caused when data from hard copy paper filings is manually entered into the AFIDA database.  Consequently, the data may not always match the aggregate data contained in reports submitted by FSA to Congress (starting with the 2022 data).  FSA intends to update the most recent year’s spreadsheet twice a year, based upon communications it receives from those who have submitted FSA-153s regarding inaccuracies in their data with respect to company names, foreign country affiliations, acreage holdings, and other information.  FSA will begin this process by starting with data submitted in 2022 (FSA will not be updating data from spreadsheets for earlier years).
