New Deadline is Jan. 15, 2018—Voucher Balances Expire on Jan. 16, 2018
Dec. 7, 2017 — The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) today announced that it is extending the deadline for eligible Puerto Rico dairy producers affected by recent hurricanes to complete feed purchases and take delivery under the Dairy Assistance Program for Puerto Rico (DAP-PR). The new deadline is Jan. 15, 2018.
Eligible dairy operations that suffered livestock feed losses due to 2017 hurricanes in Puerto Rico applied for feed vouchers under DAP-PR beginning Oct. 21, 2017, through Dec. 1, 2017. Those vouchers were to have expired 45 days after issuance, but the expiration date is now being extended for all vouchers until Jan. 15, 2018. The extension is due to continuing storage, transportation and other infrastructure challenges in the Commonwealth.
Any voucher balances remaining on approved applications will not be available for use after Jan. 15, 2018.
For more information, contact your state or county FSA office in Puerto Rico or review the corresponding notice that was posted on the FSA website at https://www.fsa.usda.gov/Internet/FSA_Notice/df_335.pdf.
