Federal Emergency Management Agency Designates 19 Illinois Counties as Primary Natural Disaster Area

Indiana Contiguous Counties of Benton, Sullivan, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren

This Presidential disaster declaration allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to producers recovering from natural disasters through emergency loans. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts. FSA will review the loans based on the extent of losses, security available, and repayment ability.   

Impacted Area: Illinois

Triggering Disaster: Severe storms and flooding that occurred June 29 through July 2, 2023 

Application Deadline: May 15, 2024 

Primary Counties Eligible: Christian, Clark, Coles, Cumberland, Dewitt, Douglas, Edgar, Hancock, McDonough, Macon, Monroe, Morgan, Moultrie, Pike, Sangamon, Scott, Vermillion, Warren and Washington 

Contiguous Counties Also Eligible: 

  • Illinois: Adams, Brown, Calhoun, Cass, Champaign, Clinton, Crawford, Effingham, Ford, Fulton, Greene, Henderson, Iroquois, Jasper, Jefferson, Knox, Logan, McLean, Macoupin, Marion, Menard, Mercer, Montgomery, Perry, Piatt, Randolph, St. Clair, Schuyler and Shelby
  • Indiana: Benton, Sullivan, Vermillion, Vigo and Warren
  • Iowa: Lee
  • Missouri: Jefferson, Lewis, Marion, Pike, Ralls, Ste. Genevieve and St. Louis
