Nevada Announces the Re-opening of Las Vegas Office

Reno, Nevada April 22, 2021 —Nevada’s U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) would like to announce the opening of the Las Vegas County Office to better serve agricultural Producers in Clark County.

Blane Merkley will serve as the County Executive Director (CED) of the Las Vegas and Ely County Offices. These offices are responsible for serving agricultural  producers in Clark, Lincoln, Southeast Nye and White Pine counties.

Blane grew up in Fallon, NV and graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with his bachelor’s degree in Agriculture Science in 2019. Blane spent the last 9 months in Winnemucca, NV training for his current role as a CED.  “I am excited for the opportunity to connect with urban and rural producers all over Southeastern Nevada.,” said Mr. Merkley, “ and I hope to expand program participation in Las Vegas and Henderson for the small and medium sized producers to ensure all rural producers continue to be taken care of for all their FSA program needs.”  The FSA Office is in the USDA Service Center located at 7080 La Cienega St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.  The FSA County Office is co-located with the Natural Resource and Conservation Service (NRCS) and Rural Development (RD).
