USDA Announces Availability of Low-Interest Physical Loss Loans for Producers Affected by Tornadoes, Thunderstorms

(LINCOLN, Nebraska, 5/30/2024) Physical loss loans through the United States Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) can help producers repair or replace damaged or destroyed physical property essential to the success of the agricultural operation, including livestock losses. Examples of property commonly affected include essential farm buildings, fixtures to real estate, equipment, livestock, perennial crops, fruit and nut bearing trees, and harvested or stored crops and hay.

Triggering Disaster: Thunderstorms, Tornadoes that began 4/26/2024 through 4/27/2024 
Application Deadline: 1/27/2025
Primary Counties Eligible: In Iowa, the counties of Clarke, Harrison, Mills, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby and Union 
Contiguous Counties Also Eligible: In Iowa, the counties of Adair, Adams, Audubon, Boone, Carroll, Cass, Crawford, Dallas, Decatur, Fremont, Jasper, Lucas, Madison, Marion, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Story, Taylor, Warren and Wayne; In Missouri, the counties of Harrison and Worth; In Nebraska the counties of Burt, Cass, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington
